Tactician mode on Legends Rift is the ultimate brain challenge of our quiz suite. Inspired by the famous puzzle game Mastermind, it transposes pure logic mechanics into the League of Legends universe by asking you to guess a secret team composition made up of specific champions and items.

Developing Logical and Analytical Thinking

This game trains your quick deduction skills under pressure. On League of Legends, the ability to analyze enemy builds and composition to deduce strategic intentions (e.g. are they preparing a teamfight, a split-push, or a trap in the brushes) is what separates strategists from simple executors. The Tactician sharpens your analytical rigor to make you the shotcaller of your team. If you prefer attribute-based deduction, try Target mode.

Rules & Tips

You must propose combinations of champions and items to fill the grid. For each proposal, the computer gives you valuable clues: visual indicators signal if an element is correct and well-placed (Hextech activated), if it is part of the sequence but poorly placed, or if it is completely absent from the secret combination. You have a limited number of attempts to crack the code.

Don't guess at random. Start by testing varied elements to quickly identify which champions or items are part of the secret combination. Once the correct elements are identified, proceed with logical permutations to find their exact position. This analytical elimination approach is the same one you must adopt during the Ranked Draft phase to counter enemy synergies. Test your raw knowledge in the Champions Quiz or check the Wiki.

What are the difficulty levels?+

The Tactician offers three difficulty modes (Apprentice, Initiate, Master) increasing the number of elements to guess and complexifying the possible combinations.

Yes, the game provides clear visual cues and you can rely on pure logic to eliminate false leads, making it an excellent and fun way to learn items.
